I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in West Los Angeles. I offer psychotherapy services to adolescents and adults, and to both individuals and couples (License # PSY28521).
I served on the Board of Directors and as the Chairperson of the 2017 and 2018 Annual Convention for the Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA), which is a professional organization that develops, coordinates, & facilitates a yearly convention that presents salient & leading-edge training to licensed psychologists.
Additionally, I facilitate a series of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)-sponsored Interactive Parent Training Seminars. Through in vivo group activities with a focus on neuroscience and evidence-based strategies, I help improve parents’ & caregivers’ abilities to connect with their difficult teen by helping them first connect with themselves, adaptively manage their own stress, and strengthen skills involved with Emotional Intelligence and communication.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). My Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology were awarded by Alliant International University, Los Angeles- California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). I have received additional accreditation in Drug and Alcohol Abuse Studies and Counseling from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
By completing several competitive Practica and Pre and Post-Doctoral Internship placements, I received advanced training in providing effective psychotherapy to individuals of diverse cultures, identities, ages, and socioeconomic strata. I am honored to have received intensive formal supervision from the following master therapists: Dr. Judith Davenport, Dr. Judy Swerling, Dr. Susan Frankel, Dr. Cynthia Speich, Dr. Monica Farrasat, Dr. Cynthia Wong, Dr. Matthew Calkins, Dr. Jennifer Heetderks, Dr. Anna Rivera, Dr. Jennifer Levine, Dr. Francine Lederer, Dr. Elaine Rosa, and Dr. La Faune Gordon- with additional analytically-oriented guidance from Dr. Bruce Brodie, Dr. Leonia Kurgan, Dr. Ken Scott, and Steve Kadel, LMFT. With a background in conceptual illustration and design, I wrote and illustrated an interactive children’s book that aims to increase Emotional Intelligence through reading with a primary caregiver. Bella Astra, Cosmic Kid reads as a whimsical sci-fi adventure. However, this book is a robust psychological intervention tool that was born from my Clinical Doctoral Dissertation, which distilled the active ingredients of the world’s strongest evidence-based research and programs to increase Emotional Intelligence.
